Cookies and browser storage

This policy covers starpolar.app and labs.starpolar.app. Cookies are small values stored by your browser. Local storage and browser caches can also remember settings and content. These technologies are described together here, even when no cookie is involved.

Necessary storage

Necessary functions stay active when you choose “Necessary only”. They support language preferences, shop currency and VAT country, your cart, and security. They are not used for advertising.

• Shop preferences: starpolar_shop_currency and starpolar_shop_vat_country remember your price display choices. The currency cookie lasts up to one year; local preferences remain until replaced or deleted.
• Cart: starpolar_fourthwall_cart_id identifies your cart; starpolar_shop_cart_count remembers the item count. Browser values remain until replaced or deleted. The shop platform controls the lifetime of the actual cart.
• Cart preview: starpolar_shop_cart_preview holds item, variant, quantity, image, and price details so the cart can appear quickly. It is used for up to 30 minutes. It contains no customer names, addresses, or payment details.
• Your privacy choices: starpolar_privacy_choices stores your selection and its date for up to 180 days. A secure cookie shared by starpolar.app and labs.starpolar.app keeps the choice consistent in both directions; local storage remains a fallback. Checkout is excluded. Expired or outdated choices are removed on your next visit and we ask again.
• Labs tools: release-note projects, language variants and history stay in local storage until deleted. The release-note tool uses editable templates and local drafts without AI or model downloads. Export a backup before deleting browser data.

Optional analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics loads only after you allow analytics. It measures website use and performance in aggregate without analytics cookies. Choosing “Necessary only” leaves it disabled. You can withdraw consent later using “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Optional embedded videos

YouTube videos connect to Google only after you allow external media. The embed uses youtube-nocookie.com. When a video loads, Google can receive connection data such as your IP address and may use browser storage. Allowing analytics does not automatically allow videos.

Change or withdraw your choices

Open “Cookie settings” in the footer on any page. You can enable or disable analytics and external media separately, save your choices, or select “Necessary only” to withdraw both optional permissions. Withdrawal applies to future processing; analytics withdrawal reloads the page to stop the loaded service. Existing video embeds are removed.

You can also delete cookies, local storage, and cached files in your browser settings. This may reset your cart and other preferences. If your browser blocks saving preferences, your choice can only be kept for the current page visit.

Checkout and more information

Checkout at checkout.starpolar.app is operated by Fourthwall and has its own storage and privacy information. Your choices on starpolar.app do not control that separate checkout.
